My Beginning
I first started my Brazilian Jiu Jitsu journey at Paragon of Dallas under Alex Martins do Nascimento and John Brink. When Alex chose to leave and open up a new gym and association in February of 2015, I followed. His first gym started in Duncanville, TX and then AMBJJ at Oakfit in Dallas, TX. The AMBJJ association has now grown in the Dallas-Fort Worth and North Texas area. Alex Martins is a world champion third degree black belt under the Club Piña Association based in Alex’s hometown, Manaus.
Lineage: Mitsuyo Maeda > Carlos Gracie > Helio Gracie > Royler Gracie > Junor Cardoso > Alex Martins
While training under Alex Martins, I also trained under black belts, Alex Martins, Vin Abadie, and adult world champion, Lucas Pinhiero at AMBJJ at Oakfit.
My Current Gym
After moving to the Pacific Northwest in November of 2017, I chose to start training under Black Belt World Champion and third degree black belt, James “300” Foster, at Foster Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Kent, Washington. Foster received his black belt from Giva Santana in 2005, and Foster BJJ is part of the One Jiu Jitsu association. Foster BJJ is home to one of the first women promoted to black belt in the Pacific Northwest, Michelle Wagner. Michelle is a third degree black belt under James Foster and Giva Santana.
Lineage: Mitsuyo Maeda > Carlos Gracie > George Gracie > Octávio de Almeida > Moises Muradi > Givanildo Santana > James Foster
